Brief Biography

Born in Slovakia, Veronika received her master degree in Psychology at the Comenius University in Bratislava having spent last 2 years of her studies at the Dept. of Psychology at the Charles University in Prague and she has lived in Prague ever since. During her undergraduate studies, she worked on a crisis hotline for children and caretakers and after her studies, Veronika worked with foreign university students helping them better adapt to life in Czech Republic. Later she joined a team at a hospital psychiatric ward in Pilsen as a psychotherapist and clinical psychologist where she led the psychotherapeutic groups as well as individual psychotherapy sessions with adult outpatients and carried out psychological assessments of the psychiatric in-patients (adults and children). Psychotherapeutically, Veronika has worked with clients struggling with variety of issues – anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, depression or bi-polar disorder, stress, low self-esteem, aggression and impulsivity problems, relationship/marital problems, psychosomatic problems and other interpersonal problems.

Veronika is trained in Systemic approach in psychotherapy and counseling (Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy) telephone and face-to-face crisis intervention and hypnosis. She received a certification necessary for work in the state health-care institutions in Czech republic and has been enrolled in postgraduate continuing education program for clinical psychologists. She finished internships in a couple of psychotherapeutic centers in Prague, has attended workshops and seminars covering areas of psychological and neuropsychological assessments, counseling and psychotherapy. Veronika has been enrolled in psychoanalytic group therapy training since 2013.

Veronika speaks fluent Slovak, Czech and English.
